Are you looking to venture into the great outdoors this year? Whether you’re waiting for the weather to warm up or not, now is the perfect time to begin planning for spring and beyond for 2015. Each year, millions of Americans go hiking, take fishing trips, or dive into the ocean, and these vacations create a memorable experience for them and their whole families.

However, while going outdoors and enjoying nature is a lot of fun, it also requires the right supplies. When you plan your outdoor expedition, make sure you have the right camping supplies, scuba gear, and fishing or hunting equipment for your adventure. Here’s what you should plan for:

    1. Camping: Camping is one of the most popular outdoor activities today, and thanks to innovations in camping gear, it’s become easier than ever. Tents can fit entire families, and you can even power your cookwear and other necessities through a car battery or other source. In addition to camping, you may also want to hike while you’re out in nature. Just be sure to pack the appropriate amount of materials, so you’re not lugging a huge tent around in addition to your hiking gear or mountain climbing accessories.

    2. Scuba Diving: Swimming in the ocean is fun for many people, but some like to take it a step further and try scuba diving. Scuba gear can include wetsuits, snorkels, flippers, oxygen tanks, goggles, and safety supplies, among other pieces. Make sure to find out exactly what you need at a sporting goods store, and ask about safety precautions and operation instructions, too.

    3. Hunting and Fishing: Over 200 million Americans go on hunting trips each year, and some like to fish as well. Before going on such trips, make sure you have everything you need. Hunters should have proper camouflage, ear protection, and other safety gear, and they should know how to use their guns, crossbows, or other weapons. Fishers should have fishing rods, tackle, and bait, and if going on a boat, they should have proper licensing.
